Hello. I am ready to talk Phillies. Thanks for joining
Not sure. St. Louis, Tex, Boston. If he's patient and begins a spring-training-like throwing program, he could have some negotiating strength if a team has a breakdown in the coming weeks.
Well, looking back at the market for closers, they probably overpaid for Pap, but you have to love that arm in the ninth
That will play out in ST. I could see Mayberry in LF and Wigg at first. I could see Pierre in LF and Mayberry at first. There are other possibilities, too. Should be an intriguing issue in camp
He's my choice. That and $1.06 will get you a coffee at Wawa
$178 million. Is there a chance they go over? Sure. If they are close to a title, I don't see a few million stopping them. But they view the tax as empty payroll and would like to avoid it
My guess -- fourth or fifth starter. Very curious to see his health. They talked about surgery last summer, now he's supposedly healthy. We will see. He also could be trade bait if healthy.
Sorry. I answered the tax question without posting the question
On Howard: I think there's a good chance he's the same guy, but time will tell.
Charlie likes him leadoff, he likes leadoff. I have to believe that's where he will be
I think Worley and JB (if healthy) are in the rotation. Kendrick is valuable swing guy/insurance.
Great question. I'd say something in that 3 year, 27-30 M range. With a good year, he will be attractive. But don't tell him that. I don't want his head to swell
I can see Willis and Pierre making it.
I have heard that for months. I am sure the Phillies have talked about it internally and probably even run it by the Mets. But Mets would be looking for huge talent in return and Wright can be free agent after 12 if traded. Phils aren't crazy about 1 year guys
As I sit here on February 14, I think they will be the fourth and fifth OFs
Good question. the 2013 OF could have a different look. I think they'd like to have Vic back -- he's one of their own -- but what if they have to let him go to budget for Hamels? Brown'
Sorry. Brown's development becomes key.
Certainly possible. A lot depends on Dom's development this year. Big year for him even though the bulk of it could be spent in AAA
Doubt Polanco. The other guys might be a start
He probably has the athleticism to do it. A lot depends on how he does this year. Had a nice second half run, still needs to prove more
This team could win 10 fewer games (92) and if it gets 11 in Oct will be better.
My guess is they will go with what they have and look to tweak down the road if they feel they are short
Well, there could be some movement in the OF. The rest of their contracts are pretty inflexible. If you are asking if Charlie gets fired, I say no. I don't see that happening. He has two years left on his deal and I think he finishes them on his way to retirement and the team's Wall of Fame
